Description
Two-hand control for longer manual-handling tasks
The Lift Assist Double Handle provides two handholds and a longer webbing strap for controlled manual movement of tubulars, valves, fishing tools and deck items. It is intended for one-person or two-person manual operation, depending on the task assessment. OHS USA supports customers throughout the Americas with product selection, current manufacturer documentation and quotation details for Offshore Handling Systems equipment.
Typical applications
- Manual handling of pipe and tubing sections where two handholds support coordinated control.
- Pup joints, chicksans, IBOP valves and fishing tools within the published rating.
- Deck and workshop cargo that can be securely engaged by the 50 mm webbing strap.
- Tasks where the 1500 mm standard strap permits double wrapping of a suitable tubular.
- Single-operator or two-operator methods approved by the site risk assessment.
Choosing between Lift Assist models
Choose the Double Handle when the approved manual method benefits from two hand positions, a longer strap or coordinated handling by two people. Confirm the component weight, circumference, balance and surface hazards before selection. For smaller one-handle tasks, compare the Lift Assist Single Handle. For controlled handling of chicksan and BOP choke valves, review the narrower Lift Assist Choke Valve Sling.

Application and coordination guidance
Plan where each operator will stand and how the item will be set down before engaging the strap. Keep the item balanced and use one agreed person to direct the move. Double wrapping may assist with an appropriate tubular, but the strap placement must follow the current manufacturer instructions and remain clear of damaging edges or surfaces. Two operators do not double the product working load limit.
Safety and use limitations
- Use the Double Handle only for manual handling.
- Never use it as a sling or component in mechanical lifting or rigging.
- Do not exceed the published 100 kg working load limit.
- Inspect both handles, the webbing and all stitching before every use.
- Do not use damaged, cut, contaminated or heat-affected webbing.
- Apply site personal protective equipment, manual-handling rules and the Safe Use Instruction Sheet.
